Beauty and Health Wednesday, Uruguay

Banner_for_Beauty_and_Health_Wed_UruguayMy amazing journey started in Buenos Aires, continued to Salta, Purmamarca, Cafayete and Salta in Argentina and then onto Montevideo, Colonia de Sacramento and Punta del Este in Uruguay.  The final day of my journey, today, on Tuesday ends here in Punta del Este.  Tomorrow evening we are headed out to the Montevideo airport to fly back to the States. I had such a great time in these two beautiful countries in the Southern Hemisphere. As I am flying back tomorrow (which falls on Wednesday),  I will be doing my Beauty and Health Evening tonight at a beautiful hotel in Punte del Este.

Punte del Este is so beautiful and great to visit without many tourists. It feels like having the beautiful nature almost all to myself.

What better way to end this beautiful day and amazing journey, than by enjoying a heated indoor pool and hot tub, followed by a facial in the hotel room?

File Jun 23, 8 45 45 AMThis morning, I saved a Kiwi and a banana from the breakfast buffet.  When I prepared my facial, I  mashed and mixed the two pieces of fruit with one teaspoon of the Scentsible Life Cleansing Powder to make my mask. I will leave the mask on over night to rejuvenate and refresh my skin, which by the way, has been exposed to a lot of cold, dry and windy air outside during my adventures down here in the winter air, as well as hot air indoors.

I will miss Argentina and Uruguay, but I am also looking forward to coming back home to Los Angeles. It’s a bitter sweet evening tonight in this beautiful hotel in Punta del Este.

Taking a break in the middle of the week to take care of ourselves is not only great during regular times, but also during vacation! I hope all of you will enjoy your Wednesday Beauty and Health Evening whether you are at home or on the road!

 

 

Beauty and Health Wednesday

Almond_Cappuccino_Aloe_Mask

A little pre summer sun and fun is on the menu today for Beauty and Health Wednesday. Ruby Red Grapefruit, Aloe Vera and Almond Cappuccino are ready to help set the atmosphere to lift our moods, calm our nervous systems and to tone and firm our skin! How great 🙂

Take a break today or in the evening and put up your legs and enjoy an Almond Cappuccino facial, which by the way, you can apply it to your entire body! If your out and about during the day or at work, make a conscious break from the events of the day after you get home. Take a quick shower to wash off all the stimuli that your body received during the day. Then get ready for a relaxing evening.  Set up a quiet space where you can soak your feet and relax comfortably. Put on some of your favorite music if you like.  Then you will be ready to make your cleanser, mask and foot bath!

Prepare your skin care products:

Cleanser: Mix about 2 teaspoons of Scentsible Life Cleansing Powder with enough plain yoghurt to form a creamy consistency (also about 2 teaspoons).  You can experiment with the proportions to get the consistency you like.

Almond Cappuccino Mask: Mix 1 Tablespoon of Scentsible Life Almond Cappuccino with 1 Tablespoon hot water and 2 Tablespoons of fresh Aloe Vera Gel (or store bought if you don’t have fresh) into a blender. Blend well (about a minute). The mixture should have the consistency of milk, watery but not too thin. Add 2 drops of Red Ruby Grapefruit and stir to blend. Viola!

Prepare warm/hot foot bath:  add 2 drops of Red Ruby Grapefruit essential oil to warm to hot water in your foot bath

You are almost ready for the foot bath.

1. First wash your face with the cleansing mixture and then rinse well with warm water.

2. Apply the Almond Cappuccino Mask to your face, arms, hands, legs and feet.

3. Enjoy soaking your feet in your warm foot bath for 15-20 minutes.

While you soak in your foot bath, close your eyes and enjoy the quietness, letting your thoughts wander. Breath evenly and calmly, thinking about the richness and the beauty you have in your life.

I usually leave my Almond Cappuccino Mask on over night, tuck in and watch one of my favorite movies or read a good book and complete my beauty regimen in the morning with a fresh morning rinse.  After you rinse off the mask, apply facial oil and hydrotone to your face, legs and arms. I always find this regimen extremely refreshing!

Beauty and Health Cooling Down Wednesday

Beauty_Health_Cooling_Down_Wed_BannerHave you been staying hydrated in this recent heat wave? In today’s practice we use Turmeric as an anti- inflammatory agent and grapefruit to purify. Together we have a facial mask recipe that will leave your skin feeling refreshed and nourished (without leaving Turmeric’s notorious color!)

Tonight after returning home from your day, take the opportunity to relax outdoors first. Go into your garden with a chair and spend a few moments sitting quietly. Look around. What do you notice? Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells that you encounter. You may be surprised at what or who comes into your company after sitting for a certain length of time. Do you notice the songbirds or squirrels? Can you feel the warm evening breeze rolling in? Take a deep breath and unwind.

Before entering your home, pause at the door and again practice showing appreciation for your personal sanctuary. This is your sacred place, where you can truly relax, feel safe and secure, and are always welcome.

Start your Wednesday evening with the preparation of a good meal, and your beauty products. Enjoy the process of preparing food – food for your body and food for your skin. Our practice for tonight gives you an opportunity to counteract the heat accumulated in your skin from the day. Our recommended facial and skin mask is a unique blend of turmeric root, yogurt, fresh grapefruit juice and raw honey.

RECIPE:

1 Tbsp – Scentsible Life facial mask

¼ tspn – Turmeric Root

½ Tbsp – Fresh Grapefruit juice

1 tspn – Spoon full of raw honey

1 tspn – Yogurt

Begin your evening ritual by preparing your facial mask:

Take a bowl and squeeze ½ Tablespoon of fresh grapefruit juice into a bowl. Add  ¼ teaspoon of grated, fresh Turmeric root, and one teaspoon of yogurt. Mix well. Warm one teaspoon of honey and add to the yoghurt/Turmeric mixture. Blend well and then stir in the Scentsible Life Facial Mask.

After you have finished preparing the recipe, take a nice relaxing shower or a footbath (if you want to save water). Allow the water to wash away residual stresses from your day leaving you clean and clear in your mind and body. While you shower or soak feel appreciation for your body, the home for your spirit.

After your shower or your foot bath, apply the facial mask to your face and skin to invigorate and nourish your complexion. Allow the mask to set for 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm to hot water. Complete your regimen with a facial massage with Scentsible Life’s Facial Oil and a spritz of our Hydrotone.

Happy Earth Day!

It’s Beauty and Health Wednesday, an evening in the midst of the week, where we take a break, pamper and nourish ourselves with the Scentsible Life products and inspirations. The past few weeks we have posted different recipes, essential oils and meditations for a stress relieving evening. This week we are switching it up a bit to also include the body and the environment into our weekly practice.

When you come home take a moment to wait in front of your door before you enter.

Take a deep breath and imagine entering a sacred space. Feel how good it feels to come home to your own personal sanctuary, where you can let your hair down, relax and unwind from daily activities. Step into your sanctuary and take a moment to be at home, sitting down enjoying a cup of hot water, letting your thoughts about work and the day go.

As your body begins to relax, start your Wednesday evening with the preparation of a good meal, and your beauty products. Enjoy the process of preparing food – food for your body and food for your skin.

Scentsible Life Food for Your Skin Recipes:

Make enough of the cleansing powder so you can massage it all over your body. Here is a recipe that fits most body types. You can make more or less, keeping the proportions 1 part powder to 2 part fluids. Keep in mind, with our products, a little amount goes a long way.

1 Tablespoon Cleansing Powder
2 Tablespoon freshly pressed lemon juice

Facial Mask Recipe:

1/2 teaspoon of warm honey
1 teaspoon of aloe vera juice
1 teaspoon of facial mask
2 drop of Lavender Essential Oil.
Add more facial mask if you like a more creamy consistency.

Light an aroma lamp with 2 drops of Lavender and place it in the area where you will be sitting or laying down while the facial mask dries.

When you are done preparing your beauty products and your space is ready for you, begin the cleansing step.

With circular motion massage the cleanser into your face and body. While you massage your face and body, feel how your skin becomes cleaner, lighter and brighter. Then step into the shower. For a moment stand directly under the stream of water, allowing the water to wash away stresses and mind chatter. Then wash off the remaining cleanser.

Step out of the shower, dry your body with loving thoughts, full of appreciation and gratitude. Be thankful for your body that carries you through the day, through all the experiences, tasks, and ups and downs of life. Remember, your body is always there for you, strong and beautiful.

Keep your body warm, while you go on to the next step.

Apply the prepared facial mask to your face, feet and hands, put on socks for your feet and gloves for your hands. You may want to set a timer for 20 minutes.

While your mask is working on nurturing your face, hands and feet, become conscious of the aroma in the room. Sit or lay down in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and inhale the aroma. Focus only on your breath and on loving thoughts toward yourself, and your loved ones. After a while begin to ponder what is important to you, and how you can make room to pay more attention to it.

After 20 minutes, slowly get up, rinsing off the mask with warm to hot water. While you apply the Scentsible Life Facial Oil and complete the treatment with a spritz of the Hydrotone, smile at yourself in the mirror, acknowledge how beautiful you are and feel what a great life you have.

Enjoy the rest of the evening with the renewed energy that flows in your body, mind and emotions.

Lavender – Rosemary – Eucalyptus

They provide amazing help for wound and burn healing (lavender), clearing respiratory congestion (Eucalyptus), boosting and strengthening the immune system (Rosemary), combating stress and depression (Lavender). Using them is very easy; you can inhale them straight from the bottle, anointing the chest area, or just adding a few drops into an aromatherapy diffuser.These simple methods can help you stay healthy and feel good.

Essential Oils can also enhance the quality of our lives by removing mental and emotional blockages, so we can go through our days with calm and clarity, enjoying paying attention to what is happening in the moment. Lavender, Rosemary and Eucalyptus essential oils help us to become more aware of what our bodies need, help to induce self-love, and help us feel true respect and love for others.

How to incorporate essential oils to your life in a safe, effective and beneficial way:

Many of us only know to choose essential oils based on symptoms that are felt in the moment. This is the most common error in using essential oils, as they don’t always work on symptoms. The oils work on the source of the symptom. When choosing essential oils based on symptoms alone, you may not experience the relief of the symptom. On the contrary the symptoms may be enhanced, highlighting the aches and pains, only to direct you into taking care of the source of the symptom. Finding the source may be difficult when you are already in pain. And, that is the reason why you should ask a trained, professional essential oil therapist. The therapist will help you choose the right essential oil for the source and the symptom of your discomfort.

Having said this, I would like to guide you into learning about how essential oils work with the Scentsible Life Lavender, Eucalyptus and Rosemary Essential oils and the following life-enhancing, preventative, and stress relieving treatments. Please follow the instructions and contact us if you have questions or need further guidance. We are here for you.

For chronic physical conditions:
Bring Lavender with you to work or wherever you go during the day. Add one drop onto a cotton ball, and place the scented cotton ball on your desk, or close to computers or other electronic devices.

Once a day for three days use Lavender in the foot bath before you go to sleep. Add 2 drops of Lavender and soak for 15 minutes. Afterward massage one drop each into the soles of the feet.
Do this treatment three days on, and three days off until the physical condition has changed.

Lacking self-esteem, self-confidence, self-love:
Bring Rosemary to work. Add 2 drops on to a cotton ball, and place the scented cotton ball on your desk, or close to computers or other electronic devices.
In the evening, shortly after you have returned home, take a Rosemary foot bath. Add 2 drops to a warm to hot foot bath, and soak for 15 minutes. Afterward massage one drop of Rosemary into the chest area.

This regimen is done every other day for two weeks. Changing self-esteem, self-confidence and finding self-love on our own is a bit more difficult, and you may need additional guidance.

Having troubles in relationships:
Bring Eucalyptus to work. Add 1 drop on to a cotton ball, and place the scented cotton ball on your desk, or close to computers or other electronic devices. In the evening, before you go to sleep take a foot bath. Add 3 drops of Eucalyptus to the foot bath and soak for 15 minutes. Afterward apply one drop to the solar plexus.
This regimen is done every day for one week on and one week off. Changing something in relationships on our own also might be a bit more difficult, and you may need additional guidance.

These treatments with the essential oils are relaxing and comforting. The changes in you and your physical body happen naturally, unassumingly, yet steadily and ongoing. You might want to journal your experience with the treatments, so you can see what changes.

Journal in the following manner:
Before you start and after you are done with the treatments describe as accurately as possible how you feel, what thoughts you had, etc. Avoid analyzing your experience. Keep track of what you do everyday, again without analyzing your activities.

The Healing Power of Truth

The Road to Finding Inner Happiness

Most of us feel the need for finding fulfillment, satisfaction and happiness. Why can’t we find it? What is it in us that cannot enjoy things as they are? Our instinctual nature inspires us to go and search for happiness. We engage in many promising rituals as well as spiritual, psychological, motivational and energetic treatments so we can unleash mental or emotional blockages we have that hinder us from feeling good about ourselves, our lives and what has manifested in our lives. Despite our good efforts, these attempts most often do not work, as our focus goes away from what is actually happening in our lives, instead of embracing what we have.

We may feel unsatisfied with what we have, so we begin to dream about something that we do not have. What we have gets neglected and this only serves to enhance our dissatisfaction.
We need to learn to pay attention and properly care for what we have without looking externally for something new. What we do is look away from the truth and fantasize about something else and move away from what can help us. Healing can happen when we are able to find and face the truth head on. It is in actuality, not so difficult to do so, when we see our lives without sentiment, judgement or emotions. Seeing our lives as they are, truthfully, is nothing less than a miracle. Seeing ourselves truthfully as we are carries the real healing power. Let’s begin the process.
There is a difference between being motivated to grow, learn and evolve than being competitive, jealous and driven to be better than another. Growing, learning and evolving are part of a drive that comes from the heart, as we are fully engaged and love who we are and what we have. Competitiveness, jealousy, and wanting to be better than another come from a feeling of unworthiness and are ego driven. We are living in a very competitive reality where it is very important to find inner calmness, ease and self-love, so we can find and live a life that is interesting, creative and happy.

We all can find the calmness within us and it is, truly, not that hard. The hardest part of this process is finding the time and energy to take the fist step. As you are reading this, you have actually already found the time and the energy to take your fist step. You might as well continue and begin to complete the first step right now.

Completing the First Step: The Road to Finding Inner Happiness

The first step to inner peace and happiness is slowing down becoming still and taking inventory of yourself — self awareness and time with yourself is a real key. It can redirect you, spark your creativity and lead you in the right direction with the right timing.

Here is an example I would like to use. Of course I want everyone to come to my workshops and I do believe they can help everyone. Of course not everyone can attend as much as I would like to hold it in a stadium with 100,000 students. But there are a lot of people that could attend and do not for one reason or another. This can also be a metaphor for doing something in your life that would be good for you but you do not do it, or you think you don’t have time to do.
Here’s the example:

I would really love it if everyone attended my next workshop, Freedom in Relationships on Tuesday evenings. You also might want to attend, or even plan to attend, but then reality hits; you live too far away, you have other plans, or you don’t have the money. If your heart really wants it, then engaging and participating would be the first step to open your mind, heart and life to do something that initially seems impossible. How? You might ask. To make something impossible happen, you need to gather yourself, take a breath and become a bit more creative. There are options! One option is to clear your schedule, find the money, and come to the workshop using your ingenuity. Another option is to make arrangements with us to join the workshop via FaceTime or Skype. You may also want to actively participate with our blog. Our workshops and articles are geared toward helping you take the first step to seeing your life as it actually is, so you are best able to thrive in your life.

Money, distance and busy schedules are often the road blocks that hinder us from making changes in our lives. Initially, It seems to be so difficult to rearrange schedules, to take the time and budget differently, or to look into other options on how to participate. In reality, however, just taking the time to see whether or not a schedule can be rearranged, budgeting our money differently, or, when living to far away, using modern technology, could remove this road block, because we have the chance to see something that we might have missed otherwise. Most often, when we really do become more aware of ourselves, we are able to make something happen, that initially seemed impossible. This is the moment, when a surge of freedom, truth and love runs through our bodies, and we feel happy and satisfied.

So now, if you are really interested in finding your inner happiness, keep reading.

Take a piece of paper and answer the following question without using essential oils:

What do you really have?

Look into your environment and make a list of everything that is physically there. Then continue onto listing all your skills, and everything that you do in your life.

List:

  • What do you have (physical items)
  • What do you have (physical items)
  • What skills do you have
  • Everything you do (actions)

Once you have completed this list, you may already see and understand how much you have, and how much you have already achieved. All of your completions and success happened, because you participated and engaged. You may be critical, judgmental or dissatisfied with what you have, however, that does not take away from what you have done, it was you that created it! Take away your judgements, criticism and dissatisfaction, then you will be able to see your own strength, and creativity that you can now utilize to go a step further, evolve and grow, and design a life that best fits your personality, and comes directly from your heart.

Take Charge of your Life with the Help of Essential Oils

Essential Oils can help you to see and accept the truth of your foundation, so you can grow, learn, and evolve.

Cedar Wood – To feel safe and secure.

Bergamot – To surrender.

Lemon – To clear charged emotions.

Ylang-Ylang – To connect to your heart passion.

Essential Oil Exercises

Invoke the energy of feeling safe and secure:
Anoint the center of the soles of your feet with one drop each of Cedar Wood Essential Oil. Sit quietly for five minutes, focusing on breathing evenly. After five minutes of emptying your mind, make a factual inventory of all of your possessions, activities, interactions with family and friends.

Most likely you will notice how much you have and how supported you are. Read this list daily and update the list when changes occur, so you can see movement.

Invoke the energy of surrender:
Take a spontaneous 15 minute break and apply one drop of Bergamot Essential Oil to your third eye (in between the eyebrows) and just be in the environment, silently. During this 15 minutes allow things to unfold without your participation or without being affected, distracted or disturbed.

This is a harder exercise and it may take practice until you get the full benefit of feeling completely at ease and unaffected by what happens around you. Consider starting this exercise in your home environment to get used to the fact that nothing will happen to you. In fact, the only things you are likely to experience are having your energy being fully restored, being more conscious and aware, having more creative thoughts, and becoming calmer and more effective in your tasks after the exercise is complete.

Clearing charged emotions:
Both of the above exercises might bring up sentimental feelings, feeling of unworthiness, and other uncomfortable feelings. These are charged emotions. You can clear them by circling and outlining your body contour with an opened bottle of Lemon Essential Oil. Start outlining your body contour on your crown downward to your right foot, and upward on your left. Keep doing it until you feel lighter.

Connecting to your heart passion:
If you would like to connect to your essence heart passion, you will need to do the above exercises before this exercise, so you are cleared of all obvious and hidden energetic blockages.
Apply Ylang-Ylang onto your heart, your solar plexus and the soles of your feet (one drop each), then sit in front of a plant and touch the stem, leave or flower of the plant, breathing evenly for five minutes. Right afterward, write down what you have experienced first and then keep writing about what you want to do, or what you want to achieve. Write exactly how you think it. Keep doing this exercise until you can see a topic, formed content or an outline of your heart desires that come through your uncensored writings. This exercise may be repeated daily until a clear picture is achieved through your writing.
I hope after reading this you are motivated and inspired to learn, grow and evolve into a life that serves you best and becomes part of radiating love, truth and freedom into your environment. We all can participate in small or big ways to make changes in our busy lives, and bring more awareness to the richness that living from the heart can bring.
